Introducing Aqua Cove at Holiday Inn Resort Orlando
If you’re traveling with junior explorers, you already know the routine.
They spot the big kids flying down slides and suddenly they’re ready to do everything. Right now. By themselves. With no fear. Until they get up close and decide actually, maybe not.
That’s where Aqua Cove comes in.
Aqua Cove is the newest section of Surf & Splash Waterpark at Holiday Inn Resort Orlando. It’s designed for younger adventurers ages 2 to 7, with all the bright, splashy fun they want, in a space that’s easier to manage as a parent.
Before you pack the swim trunks, here’s what to know.

What is Aqua Cove?
Aqua Cove is the ultimate family & tot-friendly oasis inside Surf & Splash Waterpark. Designed to give your junior explorers big adventures, Aqua Cove is colorful, active, and built around a multi-level play structure that kids notice immediately, usually before you’ve even finished adjusting a life vest.
And for parents, it’s designed to be easier. You’ll have better sightlines, a layout that lets kids move around without disappearing, and plenty for the little ones to do without the whole space feeling chaotic.
The Big Splash Centerpiece
The giant tipping bucket is the signature event at Aqua Cove. It’s what kids wait for, what parents try to catch on camera, and what you’ll hear long before you see it.
Kids start hovering while it fills. You can hear it getting heavier, and then the bucket gives that little shift that means it’s about to go.
When it finally tips, the whole bucket comes down at once, showering the area in an unforgettable big drench. It’s the kind of moment that has the kids screaming, laughing, and eager to do it again.
Parent tip: If you want to capture the moment in a photo, we always suggest taking a short video. You can grab the perfect frame later.
Little Slides, Big Confidence
Aqua Cove’s slides are made for kids who want to feel brave.
They look like something the big kids would ride, but they’re built for junior explorers: shorter climbs, approachable starts, and enough variety to keep repeat rides fun without overwhelming them.
And if your kid is hovering on the edge of confidence, this is where it usually clicks, and you can watch along as they can have their first solo slide and throw their arms up at the end like they nailed it.
Parent tip: Start with the gentlest slide first. Once they do one, the rest usually follow fast.
Water Play That Keeps Them Busy (Without You Having to Entertain)
Aqua Cove isn’t just splash-and-stand-around. The water features are interactive, which is exactly what younger adventurers want.
There are sprayers they can trigger, bubbling fountains they can hover over and poke at, and a splash pad where they can run in circles until they’re exhausted (in the best way possible). Throughout it all, kids stay engaged because they’re not just getting wet — they’re making things happen.
Parent tip: Bring water shoes if your junior explorer is a runner. It’s one less thing to worry about when they start doing laps.
How Aqua Cove Fits Into Surf & Splash Waterpark
Surf & Splash Waterpark has been the go-to for high-energy water days since it opened. Aqua Cove completes the experience by giving younger adventurers their own section that still feels like a main attraction.
If you’re traveling with different ages, here’s an easy way to pace the day:
- Start at Aqua Cove while junior explorers are fresh
- Midday, let teens hit FlowRider and Triple Tide Tower
- Later, circle back to Aqua Cove for a calmer finish.
No one has to compromise. Everyone gets a version of fun that actually fits.

The Suite Life
Surf & Splash is built for action, but when the day is done, your suite will be waiting for you. Choose from one-, two-, and three-bedroom suites at Holiday Inn Resort Orlando, with space that makes a family waterpark trip feel easier.
Our suites offer room to breathe, with:
- Full kitchens or kitchenettes
- Separate living areas
- Space to relax between splash sessions
- Complimentary access to Surf & Splash Orlando Waterpark
Instead of squeezing everyone into a small space, you’ve got a spacious family suite to retreat to. Somewhere you can rinse off, spread out, and get kids into dry clothes after a big day in the water.
Parent tip: We also offer accessible two- and three-bedroom suites for families that require them.
